The Client

Willy Naessens Swimming Pools excels in its personal approach and excellent customer service. The custom pool app PegusDigital developed helped modernize and speed up Willy Naessens’ sales process and enhance its product and service offering.

Willy Naessens Swimming Pools builds custom-designed indoor and outdoor swimming pools for private or public use. The company has been steadily growing since 1962 and is now the Belgian market leader in the construction and renovation of architectural pools. The pool-building professionals at Willy Naessens distinguish themselves by their personal approach, a total construction package, and excellent after-sales service.

The challenge

As every Naessens pool is tailor-made, Naessens was looking for a solution to simplify the process where they submerge their potential customers with visuals on how the pool would finally look and fit into their gardens.

Before working with PegusDigital, the process of specifying client pool projects was manual, taking up to 6 weeks on average. The sales teams would visit new clients, interview them and write down their pool requirements. After the debriefing back at the office, a designer would draw a pool sketch for the client by hand. The sales person would go back to the client and present him/her the proposal. If there are changes or adjustments to the initial drawing – which is often the case – the entire process starts over, resulting in significant production and installation delays and overhead.

The solution

Willy Naessens wanted to speed up and modernize the way it specifies and sells pool projects to its b2b and b2c clients. Therefore the company entrusted PegusDigital with building a custom pool app that could visualise and present pool drawings to its clients during real-time consultations, in augmented reality.

The pool app works on mobile and tablet devices of the sales team during their client meetings. It can visualise the configuration and placement of each pool in the client’s space, as well as the add extra options (e.g. coloured border tiles, enlightened water, etc). Clients can see how the pools will realistically look like in their garden or school yard. Once the proposed project meets client expectations, the salesperson can send it to the production team via email before even leaving the client meeting. This functionality speeds up the entire process tremendously and makes it much more efficient than it previously was.

Convenience

Thanks to the use of Augmented Reality the sales person visits the customer and can immediately give a realistic view to the customer of what the pool would look like in the garden, via a tablet.

Realism

To make the experience one to never forget, PegusDigital focused on adding as much realism as possible, by implementing a moving ripple effect on the water, reflection of the environment in the water (including rain) & sunlight shining on the water.

Customization

The app allows you to enter not only the size of the swimming pool but also the relevant tiles (per side), the tile width.

The result

The speed at which custom pool projects can now be visualised and presented to clients is unprecedented for Willy Naessens and its staff. Within 15 minutes of meeting a new client, salespeople can now share their first proposals for his or her unique space. The projects can then be quickly customised based on clients’ immediate feedback and additional product options – easily added. This allows for sales staff to adapt to client needs in real-time.

After using the robust app developed by PegusDigital for several months, the sales team at Willy Naessens Pools admitted it has become an inextricable part of their sales and service processes: “The consumers of today demand quick solutions; the app helps us provide a higher level of service, which differentiates us from the competition.’’ With the help of the app, Willy Naessens is able to swiftly customise projects for its clients and realise them much more efficiently.
